Alarm 229 NIBE heat pumps are equipped with an electronic function to monitor or prevent frequent occurrence of short compressor running times. The function was specially developed to counteract increased compressor wear due to intermittent compressor operation. The function is designed in such a way that after 3 consecutive compressor starts with a subsequent compressor running time of less than 5 minutes, the compressor operation is blocked and alarm message 229 (short running time) is issued. A subsequent restart is only possible after manually unlocking (resetting the alarm) the system via the device display or via the NIBE myUplink online portal. The occurrence of alarm 229 is intended to provide the opportunity to optimize the system or the external conditions so that the compressor running time can be kept within an appropriate range. The following causes can trigger alarm 229 (short running times): Heating operation with too little power consumption Active cooling operation with too little power consumption Active cooling without using a room temperature sensor Hot water preparation with SG-Ready function for inappropriate domestic water settings As already mentioned, the alarm can be reset manually (error reset) If the alarm occurs frequently, we recommend that you have the system checked by your installer.
